About Me
Under the supervision of Prof. Ryan Cloutier, I currently study the elemental abundances of M Dwarfs at McMaster University.
I previously graduated with a Bachelor's degree in astronomy, physics and chemistry from the University of Toronto Mississauga.
In my spare time, I love to play video games, do crosswords, and fawn over cats on the internet.
If you have any questions about me or my research, feel free to shoot me an email at gromekn@mcmaster.ca.
Research
Efforts
Take a look at my past and present research projects.
M Dwarf Compositions
I am using SPIRou spectra of co-evolved FGK-M binary star systems to calibrate previously unreliable measurements of elemental abundances derived from M dwarf spectra. We can then apply the calibration to planet-hosting M dwarfs and constrain planet formation models.
Cygnus Loop
A study of the Magnetic field structure and morphology of the famous Cygnus Loop Supernova Remnant.
Outreach and Volunteering
I love doing outreach for science and astronomy and I volunteer with many organizations like Let's Talk Science, AstroTours, and more to make that happen. You can find my interview for SURP Student Spotlight right here.
Photography
It turns out I really like taking photos of nature and flowers.
